Dr. Stephen A. Mitchell

Dr. Stephen A. Mitchell serves on the medical staff of St. Thomas Hospital and Centennial Medical Center, and is listed as one of the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Mitchell was honored by Strathmore's Who's Who for Excellence and Leadership in Medicine.

Dr. Mitchell was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Mitchell served his Internship and Residency at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego, California.

Dr. Mitchell is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Mitchell has been awarded fellowships in the Royal Society of Medicine, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Society of Military Otolaryngologists, and the American College of Surgeons. He holds memberships in the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Performing Arts Medicine Association, Nashville Academy of Otolaryngology, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Country Music Association, and the National Flute Association.

Dr. Mitchell has sung with Mitch Miller, Robert Shaw, and with choruses that toured Russia and South America. He currently sings with the Nashville Symphony Chorus. Dr Mitchell was co-chairman of the Medical Problems of Performing Artists Symposium in Aspen, Co for 2000 and 2001 and has served as president of the Performing Arts Medicine Association 2003–2005.
